Ashley Darby Calls Robyn Dixon a “Loose Cannon” in CultureCon Interview: “I Didn't Know Where She Was”
Ashley Darby sat down with The Reality Rundown at CultureCon and got asked for one word for each of her Potomac castmates. Karen Huger got “back.” Wendy Osefo got “vulnerable.” And Robyn Dixon — back this season as a friend of the cast — got the two words everybody is going to be repeating: loose cannon.
One Word for Robyn: “Loose Cannon”
The game was simple: one word for each woman, as a tease of the season. When Robyn's name came up, Ashley did not reach for a safe answer.
“You know, Robyn was a bit of a loose cannon,” she said. “So I'm gonna say loose cannon… because I didn't know where she was. I didn't know how she was feeling about me or anybody else. And you know, she definitely made it known.”
That is not Ashley turning on her. The two women go back to day one, and Ashley said more than once in this interview that she is glad Robyn is back. It is a warning about what Robyn's return actually looks like on screen: a woman with nothing to protect, saying what she thinks, and nobody — including Ashley — sure where she stands until she says it.
“She Changed the Dynamic of the Group”
Asked who changed the group the most this season, Ashley named Robyn again. Robyn has a long history with all of them, she pointed out — the group had gone three or four years without her — and her return shifted every relationship in the room, including hers and Robyn's.
“Robyn has really changed the dynamic of the group,” Ashley said, adding that “Robyn definitely stirred it up quite a bit.”
Her Words for the Rest of the Group
The one-word game ran the full table. For Karen Huger: “She's back. And when I say she's back, Karen is back in many, many ways.”
For Wendy Osefo, the word was “vulnerable” — “because Wendy always puts up a very tough exterior, but this season she definitely got a little more raw.”
And for Stacey Rusch: Ashley said Stacey “probably goes through the most ups and downs of anybody in the group.”
Monique Is “Healing”
On Monique Samuels, Ashley got quiet for a second. Her word was “healing.”
“She's really going through something and she talks about it,” Ashley said. “It's not an easy subject to talk about.” She shared that Monique had texted her that very morning — this is not storyline talk; it is a friend describing where her friend actually is.
And the Courtney Video Is Still Crazy
The interview also circled back to newcomer Courtney Ajinça and the doomsday-prep video of Courtney's that Ashley had once called “cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs.” Ashley gave Courtney her flowers this time — the video's talk about produce and stocking up, she agreed, had come true — and then she laughed and stood by the rest of it: “That video is still crazy. She knows it. She acknowledges it herself.”
Boss Era: Learning to Invest
Ashley's own season, she said, shows a side of her the show has not shown before: her family, and her money. Bravo's billing for her year — stepping into financial independence — is one she owns out loud: “I'm a boss babe. I'm a boss now.”
Then she got honest about the gap she is closing. “Financial literacy is not really something that I learned growing up,” she said. “I didn't learn the principles of investing. I didn't really know how to make money work for me.” Growing up without money made her hold on to it tight, she said — and she has learned that holding it tight does nothing. “You got to invest it… So I'm getting more comfortable with that and making some purchases.”
Five More Seasons? “Yes”
Asked if she would sign on for five more seasons of Potomac, Ashley did not blink: God willing, yes — “I do love it here.” The one thing that gets harder as she goes, she said, is that she is more protective of her kids now. But the answer was yes.

How the quotes were checked: BC News checked every quote in this article against the interview's captions, retrieved October 15, 2026. The captions are auto-generated and misspell names (Robyn, Gizelle, and Courtney are all garbled in them); names in this article follow Bravo's spellings, and the wording of every quote is otherwise exactly as captioned. The video's own official description bills the same moment — Ashley “calling Robyn a ‘loose cannon’” — which matches the captioned exchange. At the time this story was prepared, no outlet had published an article about this interview; the interview existed only as the video.
